For several years now Winstone Wallboards have been highly proactive in providing product and system training and technical advice to builders throughout New Zealand. Since we started the programme in 2000, we have conducted over 3000 sessions which have been attended by 30,000 builders, carpenters, fixers and stoppers.

The feedback we have received has been overwhelmingly positive and because of this we have grown our training and technical advice team to 3 and will be increasing our offering to the building, fixing and stopping trades. As experienced building contractors we asked ourselves "If we were back on the tools what would we want from GIB® in the way of training and technical advice? With this in mind, we designed a programme that is:

  • Short and sharp. Generally about an hour and a half
  • Convenient. We come to your show home, office workshop or building site.
  • Cheap. It's free so we can't do more than that.

 

All sessions are delivered by people who have been there and done it. Ask any 10 builders to install plasterboard to the walls and ceiling in a room and you'll probably see different 10 methods. Everyone will be convinced that their way is the best and that they've never had any problems with it. Yes, there will be plasterboard on the walls and ceilings in each room but there will also be some performance differences between the different methods. Decorating trends and clients' expectations have changed dramatically over the past couple of decades and consequently, installation trends have had to change too.

Our technical advice team can cover all aspects of plasterboard installation from framing to the paint finish and are equally at home talking to carpentry apprentices, builders, fixers, stoppers building inspectors and architects.
