Residential Battens

The GIB® Rondo® metal battens:

are a stable, accurate and lightweight steel framing system which is ideal for the application of GIB® plasterboard.
will not absorb moisture, bend, twist or warp and therefore maintains a straight and true ceiling level once installed and reduces the risk of fasteners peaking and popping.
offer a lightweight system that is easy to install using current fixing methods and tools.
allow for the versatility of fixing battens directly to the substrate, using adjustable levelling clips or installing a suspended grid.
have mid-span joiners which enables the battens to be joined anywhere, without overlapping which is not recommended. The joiners save time and eliminate waste on site.
perimeter channels that give stability to either end of the battens.
mountain knurling on the bearing surface to assist with screw location, the drying of glues and reducing screw slipping damage to the ceiling linings.
offer fully tested systems to meet all relevant NZ building code requirements, complete with other GIB® accessories such as the adhesives, screws and plasterboard.
