Urban Homes – Waikato’s most award winning Master Builders – has earned yet another stamp of excellence,taking out the National GIB® Show Home Award at the 2019 Registered Master Builders House of the Year competition.

Its unique Rivercove show home, located in Flagstaff, Hamilton is a masterclass in sophistication, combining cutting edge design, flawless use of materials and texture, and dark, moody interiors.

Judges described the home as a stand-out, thanks to its “slick design, clever use of materials and fantastic workmanship”. The four bedroom, two bathroom property features high raking ceilings and wide glazed sliders that open out onto a central courtyard, bringing the outdoors in. Natural timber cladding and decking is offset by dark, contrasting  paintwork, creating a strong sense of drama which continues inside the home through the innovative use of lighting and textural finishes.

Built for relaxation and entertaining, this elegant show home was in a class of its own at the 2019 competition, winning  not only the National GIB® Show Home Award, but a slew of other awards too, including the Regional Craftsmanship award and the Regional Lifestyle Award.

The Registered Master Builders House of the Year competition has been running for nearly 30 years and is considered to be New Zealand’s premium awards programme for the residential building sector.
